This is my last year as Regional President.
I have enjoyed my tenure, but am looking forward to moving on to other things. To that end, Charlotte Gilet has agreed to take over responsibility for the Women's Tournaments and President's Cup Team. Charlotte has done a great job over that last few years building the Greater Boston Open, representing Region 2 on the Women's Player's Committee (something she will continue to do) and generally supporting paddle whenever she can. There are changes on the men's side, too. Rob Pierce (Robert.Pierce@thehartford.com) has taken over the Men's Tournaments and President's Cup. Rob has already done a great job revising this year's Men's schedule to accommodate a Region 2 Men's NR Tournament in Boston. It will be held on Jan 8-9 at Brookline CC and will be run by Jim Greenho (718) 672-5250. This is something we have been trying to get scheduled for a long time.

I would also like to thank Will Kelly, who was nice enough to take over the men's responsibilities last year after his predecessor (who shall remain nameless) deserted us for another region.

There is a new Men's B event this season in Region 2. It is the Duxbury Men's B on Feb 5, 2005. Contact Lee Maxey at (781) 834-2545 or LeeMaxey@yahoo.com. The Region 2 Men's B tournaments have been very successful because of the enthusiasm of the Region 2 men who play and support them. I expect this new event to be equally successful.
