The PPTA has a link to the APTA website and each pro will have their photo and bio listed for anyone to see. There will also be a PPTA member only section on the website, which will contain job listings, teaching tips, etc. Each PPTA member receives a monthly newsletter containing topical information of interest to the membership, teaching and income producing tips and information on upcoming opportunities and events. PPTA pros also have the opportunity to submit instructional articles to Platform Tennis Magazine for publication in upcoming issues.
In addition, the PPTA membership will be offered preferred rates from a Financial Planner and an Accountant. Further, members will have resource support for writing resumes and negotiating employment contracts.
In summary, the PPTA is growing (it will probably double in size this year) and it is becoming more and more valuable. The organization will become increasingly valuable as it increases in size, since the larger the size the greater negotiating strength the PPTA will have in being able to offer insurance, advantageous relocation and mortgage rates, 401K's, etc. down the road.
